Jordan Does Design
Jordan has been working as a graphic and web designer for 5 years, both as a full time employee and as a freelance designer. He was born in 1983 and resides in Sydney, Australia.
Training
After completing his HSC at Caringbah HS in 1999 (with a UAI of 88.9), Jordan studied a Cert IV in Interactive Multimedia at Enmore Design Centre of TAFE in 2001. He has since been in attendance at various design conferences and Expos and involved in on-the-job training at various locations.
Experience
Jordan has been employed at Sinnott Bros since June 2005 working predominantly on layout and prepress of the ABC publications The Saddle Club magazine, Funtime with Friends, Organic Gardener and Collectors Magazine. The job also involves design work including business card and other marketing collatoral design, large format design work and some web design. Jordan's tasks also include overseeing the calibration of printing devices for the studio and upkeep of the archive and backup system.
Prior to that Jordan was employed as an in-house graphic designer at Scott Carver, an architecture firm, in March - December 2004.
Since 2002 Jordan has also been working freelance under the name jordesign on jobs ranging from web design and publication design through to membership card design and CD-Rom interfaces.
Skills
Jordan has been using Macs for over 12 years and is experienced in both OS9 and Mac OSX from a user perspective, and also in terms of technical support. He is also experienced using PC's running Windows (98, 2000, XP) in a Studio Environment.
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and Acrobat all come as second nature to Jordan and he is highly experienced in the use of these staple design applications, as well as being an intermediate user of Quark. He is experienced in the use of Dreamweaver and Flash for website creation, although he much prefers to code XHTML and CSS by hand to ensure the sites are standards compliant. He has also had extensive experience working with PHP and MYSQL to create dynamic, database-driven websites.
