Fervr was an existing site started by Anglican Youthworks as a resource and tool for youth in churches and youth groups around Australia. Over a number of years the site had been built, but the design was somewhat lacking. There was an abundance of great content, and great tools, but the user was given no great indication of their existence.
Jordesign has been working with Youthworks on an ongoing basis to improve the front end design of all aspects of the Fervr site.
A redesign launch in April 2009 saw a brand new, darker look with more edge - to appeal to the youth audience. With content better profiled from the homepage, and increased ease of navigation - a substantial jump in page views and multiple page views was noticed.
A redesign of much of the interface to the user tools saw a greater number of youth adding content, uploading images and shouting out to other users.
A second redesign/realign in Dec 2009 saw a major revamp of the layout of the content side of the site, better profiling content, providing ongoing paths to users and highlighting commenting on articles.
